This specimen was lot 20509 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hesse-Cassel. 1/4 Ducat, 1744. Friedrich I (1730-51). NGC MS-66. Housed within an older six digit NGC holder. Finest graded example at NGC. Crowned monogram; Reverse: Standing lion left, star below. Meticulously preserved. Sharply struck with bright glossy surfaces and terrific luster." The SCWC lists this type for 1744 and 1750.
