This specimen was lot 74530 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. Taler, 1701-RB. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg Ludwig (future George I of Great Britain). PCGS AU-50. Gunmetal gray and with some delightful amber-olive hues accentuating the devices, this crown offers entrancing eye appeal. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1700-11 and is scarce. Other thalers for 1701 include KM 19/Dav-2057 (leaping stallion reverse) and KM 20/Dav-2061 (St. Andrew reverse).
