This specimen was lot 935 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $66. The catalog description[1] noted, "HAMBURG: Free Hanseatic City, AR 8 schilling, 1797, AU." This eight schilling was one sixth of a thaler (48 schilling). It was struck with the date below the eagle (shown here) or above (KM 516). The Hamburg mint is still in operation, striking coinage for the Federal Republic of Germany.

Specification: 5.6 g, 0.625 fine silver, 28.1 mm diameter.
