This specimen was lot 3008 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $4,230. The catalog description[1] noted, "HAITI. 500 Gourdes, 1970. NGC PROOF-67 ULTRA CAMEO. Struck to commemorate the 10 Anniversary of the Revolution. Hallmark and Serial # 311 on reverse. Lightly toned." This commemorative was also struck in 1969. The "IC" mintmark on the reverse is for the Italcambio mint in Italy.

Recorded mintage: unknown but probably less than 1,000, all proofs.

Specification: 151.9 g, 0.900 fine gold, 68 mm diameter.
