A commendable example of this first date in the series exhibiting the needle-sharpness and clarity only achievable with Proof emissions. Exceedingly light hairlines in the fields account for the grade, though the central devices themselves are almost free of any marks or handling. Lightly toned at the legends, resulting in superbly balanced visual appeal." This type was struck 1881-82, 1887 and 1895 and is not rare in circulated condition tho is a better type. All issues seem to have been struck at the Paris mint.
