This type was struck 1881-82, 1886-87, 1890 and 1894 and is not rare in circulated condition tho is a better type. All issues seem to have been struck at the Paris mint. The coin is the same weight and fineness as a contemporary French half franc.
Recorded mintage: 1,500,000 (including proofs).
Specification: 2.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .067 troy oz ASW, reeded edge, 18 mm diameter.
