This type was struck 1828, 1830 and 1833 in Haiti during the rule of Jean Pierre Boyer (1776-1850), president of Haiti 1822-43. Like many Haitian coins of the period, it bears no Common Era date but only the revolutionary year "AN 30", counting from 1803, the year of independence from France. Specification: silver, unknown fineness but probably debased. Weight is variable; this specimen weighs 10.9 g.
