This specimen was lot 787 in Jean Elsen sale 136 (Brussels, March 2018), where it sold for €4,600 (about US$6,752 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HAINAUT, Comté, Marguerite II d'Avesnes (1345-1356), AV florin d'or. D/ + COIT'- HANIA Grand lis florentin. R/ ·S· IOHA-NNES· B· (échelle) Saint Jean-Baptiste deb. de f., ten. une croix et levant la main. Très rare. Très Beau. (county of Hainaut, Marguerite II d'Avesnes (1345-1356), gold florin. Obverse: large Florentine lily; reverse: St. John the Baptist facing bearing a cross. Very rare, very fine.)"
Friedberg notes that this is the only gold coin of this ruler and is rare.
