This specimen was lot 807 in Jean Elsen sale 136 (Brussels, March 2018), where it sold for €2,600 (about US$3,817 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HAINAUT, Comté, Albert de Bavière (1389-1404), AV couronne d'or, Valenciennes. D/ Ecu écartelé et couronné de Bavière-Hainaut. R/ Croix ornée et ailée, une rosette en coeur, dans un quadrilobe cantonné de quatre couronnes. Rare. presque Superbe. (county of Hainaut, Albert of Bavaria (1389-1404), gold crown, Valenciennes mint. Obverse: quartered arms of Bavaria and Hainaut; reverse: ornate wigned cross, rosette in the center on a quadrilobe, four crowns around. Rare, about extremely fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 810 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 6,500 CHF (about US$8,589 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"BELGIEN Hainaut, Grafschaft, Albert de Bavière, 1389-1404. Couronne d'or o. J. (nach 1390), Valenciennes. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. NGC MS62. Prachtexemplar. Exemplar der Auktion Münzen und Medaillen AG 74, Basel, 1988, Lot 1586. (Belgium, county of Hainaut, Albert of Bavaria, 1389-1404, undated gold crown, struck after 1390, Valenciennes mint. Very rare, especially in this condition, Cabinet piece.)"

Friedberg calls this an écu d'or and lists it with a double écu d'or (Fr-258), both rare. Albert of Bavaria-Straubing was regent for his insane brother William 1358-89 and count of Holland, Hainaut and Zeeland in his own right 1389-1404. Hainaut became part of the Burgundian inheritance in 1432.
