The specimen shown is of a type common in all grades. Guatemala was the last country in Latin America to abandon the real, in 1912, a reflection of the extreme conservatism of the peasant society. This type was struck in 1893 along with KM 161 (three stars obverse) and is common. Large date, small date, and 1893/2 varieties exist.
