This specimen was lot 75426 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $129. The catalog description[1] noted, "GUATEMALA. 4 Reales, 1801-NG M. Nueva Guatemala Mint. Charles IV. PCGS FINE-15. From the Richard August Collection." Harris[2] notes that this Charles IV denomination is more available than the quarter, half or one real but less common than the two or eight reales. Assayer "M," for Manuel Eusebio Sanchez, is recorded for 1785-1836.
