This specimen was part of lot 33915 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), which sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Lot of Four silver Coins and Medals, 1/4 Real 1801, 1 Real Proclamation Medal 1789, 1 Real 1804, 1 Real Proclamation Medal 1847. Average grade VF/XF. An interesting grouping." This specimen is one of a series struck 1796-1808 at Guatemala during the reign of Charles IV. The type is not rare but nice specimens always bring a premium.
