The first specimen was lot 72831 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it sold for $587.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Groningen & Ommeland. 6 1/4 Stuivers Uniface Siege Klippe, 1672. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. Struck after the siege to commemorate the defeat of the French forces. Sharply struck, lightly toned and quite attractive." The second specimen was lot 5218 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €650 (about US$851 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"NIEDERLANDE, GRONINGEN, Stadt. Einseitige Achteltalerklippe zu 6 1/4 Stübern 1672, geprägt während der Belagerung durch kölnische und münstersche Truppen unter dem Befehl des münsterschen Bischofs Christoph Bernhard von Galen. Gekröntes, vierfeldiges Wappen, zu den Seiten geteilte Wertangabe 6 1/4 - ST. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung Eberhard Link. Exemplar der Lagerliste G. Toderi 2, Florenz, Oktober 1976, Suppl. Nr. 95. (Netherlands, city of Groningen, uniface klippe eighth thaler of 6¼ stuber of 1672, struck while besieged by soldiers of Cologne and Munster during the Bishop's War. Obverse: crowned, quartered arms divide the value. Hadnsome patina, extremely fine.)"

This was issued by the city, not the province, of Groningen. It was accompanied by 12½ stuivers, twenty-five and fifty stuivers.
