This specimen was lot 5214 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €550 (about US$720 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NIEDERLANDE, GRONINGEN, Stadt. Einseitige Talerklippe zu 50 Stübern 1672, geprägt während der Belagerung durch kölnische und münstersche Truppen unter dem Befehl des münsterschen Bischofs Christoph Bernhard von Galen. Großer Stempel. Gekröntes, vierfeldiges Wappen, zu den Seiten geteilte Wertangabe 50 - ST. Sehr schön. Aus der Sammlung Eberhard Link. Exemplar der Auktion Kölner Münzkabinett 59, Köln 1993, Nr. 1176. (Netherlands, city of Groningen, uniface klippe thaler of fifty stuivers of 1672, struck while besieged by soldiers of Cologne and Munster during the Bishop's War. Obverse: large crowned arms divide the value. Very fine.)"
This was issued by the city, not the province, of Groningen. Large and small arms varieties exist. Some sources that that this piece was minted as a commemorative after the siege was over.
