This specimen was lot 56878 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $60. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Silver 2 Pounds, 2014. Elizabeth II. NGC MS-70 PROOFLIKE. Muled with the obverse die for the "Horse" Lunar year issue." In 1987, emulating the krugerrand, the maple leaf, the American gold eagle and other bullion coins, the Royal Mint introduced the Britannia program. Gold one, half, quarter and tenth ounce pieces were coined and marketed. Silver Britiannias were added later. To boost sales, the reverses were changed annually.
