The first specimen was lot 21167 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 5 Pounds, 2009. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. (the SCWC does not mention this type in gold). Issued upon the 500th anniversary of the accession of Henry VIII and certified as the finest technical designation available in the market." The second specimen was lot 1793 in Sincona sale 86 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$4,040 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Elizabeth II. 1952-2022. Proof 5 Pounds 2009, Royal Mint Llantrisant. 94.24 g. Piédfort in platinum. Commemorating the 500th anniversary of the accession of King Henry VIII. APW total: 94.19 g. Nur 100 Stück geprägt, Mit Originaletui und Zertifikat, Only 100 Pieces struck. NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO. With original box and certificate. No. 11 of 100 sets."

The five pound denomination was frequently used for commemoratives, including KM 1118 (shown here), KM 1121 and KM 1140 thru KM 1145. Each was struck in various metals.

Recorded mintage: unknown number in copper-nickel plus 20,000 in silver plus more in gold.

Specification: in gold: 39.94 g, 0.917 fine gold, 1.177 troy oz AGW, 38.6 mm diameter.
