This specimen was lot 2555 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$603 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Victoria, 1837-1901. Sovereign 1850, London. Young head. PCGS AU58. (kingdom of Great Britain, Victoria, 1837-1901, sovereign of 1850, London mint, young head type.)"
This bust was used on the sovereign, or one pound coin, 1838-64 with a slightly modified type (KM 736.2) extending until 1874.
Recorded mintage: 1,402,000.
Specification: 7.98 g, 0.917 fine gold, .235 troy oz AGW.
