This specimen was lot 29723 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria gold 1/2 Sovereign 1850 MS63+ PCGS, Royal mint. Highly choice for the grade, with luster that radiates the centers and only a couple luster marks in front of Victoria's portrait. A coin that would definitely 'look right at home' in higher graded hol[d]er." This bust was used on the half sovereign, or ten shilling coin, 1838-85. This is a scarce date.
