This specimen was lot 77431 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Farthing (1/4 Penny), 1679. London Mint. Charles II. PCGS EF-45." This type was struck 1672-75 and 1679 with the 1679 as the scarcest date. Numista notes that the planchets were made in Sweden. A later attempt to strike farthings in tin was an ignominious flop.
