Stack's Bowers 2025 NYINC sale, lot 37035

This specimen was lot 37035 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 6 Pence, ND (1625). London Mint; mm: Lis. Charles I. PCGS VF-30. Group A. From the Richard August Collection." This sixpence was struck by Charles I at the beginning of his reign. Note the ruffed collar, a design replaced by a lace collar on later issues.
