This specimen was lot 5407 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 1500 CHF (about US$1,897 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Genf, Stadt 10 Francs 1848. Selten, nur 385 Exemplare geprägt. Fast FDC. (Switzerland, city of Geneva, ten francs of 1848. Rare, choice uncirculated.)"
Geneva minted five francs in silver, ten and twenty francs in gold in 1848, the last year of cantonal issues. This massive coin must have been a presentation piece.
