Sincona sale 98, lot 4244

This specimen was lot 4244 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$1,088 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, Taler (Ecu) 1621, Genf. Mzz. G. Sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion SINCONA 11, Zürich, Mai 2013, Los 2733. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, Geneva mint. Very Fine.)"

This thaler was issued in Geneva 1620-59 but only the 1622 and 1623 are reasonably available. It was accompanied by quarter and half thalers. One thaler was 96 sols.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specifications: 28 g, silver, 40 mm diameter, this specimen 28.74 g.
