This specimen was lot 75020 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Gelderland. 48 Stuivers (Silver Ducat), 1708. NGC AU-58. Exceptionally alluring, this barely handled piece is exceptionally frosty and pops with an incredible sparkle. RARELY encountered in this condition." The province of Gelderland struck silver ducats throughout the eighteenth century until 1785. This subtype (mintmark, mounted knight) is listed for 1701 and 1707-11.
