This specimen was lot 846 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,991 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"THE NETHERLANDS | Geldern, Provinz. 1/2 Cavalier d'or 1614. 1/2 Goldener Reiter - 1/2 Grote gouden rijder. Selten. Vorzüglich. Leicht dezentriert. (Netherlands, province of Gelderland, half cavalier d'or of 1614, half golden rider. Rare, Extremely fine, Slightly off-centered.)"
This type was struck 1606-08, 1613-25, 1641-44 along with a full gouden rijder. Demi-cavalier d'or is the French name for this coin.
