This specimen was lot 12214 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $417. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Gelderland. Ducat, 1598. NGC AU-55. Reverse rotated about 20 percent." Gelderland, along with several other Dutch provinces, issued gold ducats from the sixteenth century until the termination of the United Provinces by Napoleon in the 1790's.

Specification: 3.50 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW.
