Sincona sale 90, lot 1029

This specimen was lot 1029 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$330 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Fürstenberg, Fürstentum, Karl Joachim, 1796-1804. 10 Kreuzer 1804, Stuttgart. Vorzüglich. Leicht justiert. Unregelmässige Patina. (Germany, principality of Fürstenberg, Charles Joachim, 1796-1804, ten kreuzer of 1804, Stuttgart mint. Extremely fine, Minor adjustment marks, Irregularly toned.)"

The principality was mediatized by Napoleon in 1804 and handed over to Baden. Just before the abolition of the state, the prince issued a one, three, six, ten and twenty kreuzer and a thaler. Ten kreuzer was one twelfth of a convention thaler.
