This specimen was lot 641 in Schulman sale 347 (Amsterdam, April 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Grote oude gouden rijder. 1619. type i op groot plaatje. Ruiter naar rechts boven provinciewapentje MO• AVR• PRO• CON – FOE• BELG• FRIS• leeuwtje. Kz. CONCORDIA .RES .PARVAE. cReScVnt . 1619 . generaliteitswapen zonder waardeaanduiding jaartal boven de kroon. RRRR. Gedeeltelijk zwak geslagen. Vrijwel prachtig /Prachtig. dit is waarschijnlijk het enige bekende exemplaar in de handel. er zijn drie exemplaren in openbare verzamelingen bekend." The catalog calls this coin a "gold rider," a term American numismatists reserve for the similar coin of the eighteenth century valued at fourteen gulden. Of course, cavalier d'or, a French term, means the same thing. This rare type is listed for Friesland for 1607 and 1617-28.
