This specimen was lot 70552 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Frankfurt. 3 Kreuzer, 1866. PCGS MS-67. Free City issue with eagle on the obverse, and value within wreath on the reverse. A bright white, brilliant example." This is the first three kreuzer struck in Frankfurt since KM 334 of 1846-56. It was also the last, as the city was annexed to Prussia in that year and her coinage ceased. Other coinage for 1866 included a kreuzer (KM 367), six kreuzer (KM 374) and double thaler (KM 365).
