This specimen was lot 791 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANKFURT AM MAIN: Free City, AR thaler, 1859, key date for the two-year type, attractive light toning, PCGS graded MS65." This type was struck 1859-60, of which the 1859 is the scarcer year. Frankfurt was annexed to Prussia in 1866 and her coinage ended.
