This specimen was lot 3753 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Frankfurt, Stadt Vereinstaler 1857. Ohne Dächer vor dem Eschenheimer Turm. Sehr schön. (City of Frankfurt, union thaler of 1857, variety with houses visible next to the tower. Very fine.)"
This type was struck 1857-58 and is rather scarce compared to Frankfurt thalers of the 1860's. It was the first thaler struck in Frankfurt since 1797.
