This circulating commemorative honored Charles de Gaulle, leader of the French Resistance during World War Two and later president of France in the sixties. The regular issue nickel franc was minted 1960-2001 and is not rare tho many dates (including 1988) were struck only for sale to collectors.

Specification: 6 g, nickel, 24 mm diameter, reeded edge.
