This specimen was lot 24116 in Heritage sale 61496 (Dallas, TX, April 2025), where it sold for $129. The catalog description[1] noted, "France: Vichy Regime zinc 20 Centimes 1944 MS64 NGC, Paris mint Ex. Wade Hinderling." This type was struck in zinc (F.153A/2, shown here) and iron (F.154/3) by the Vichy regime in 1944. Both zinc and iron make bad coinage alloys and choice specimens are few. This type was demonetized in 1947.

Recorded mintage: 695,000 in iron plus 5,249,855 in zinc.
