This specimen was lot 33751 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "France: Louis Philippe I 5 Francs 1831-B MS66 NGC, Rouen mint. Laureate head type. A considerably rarer type-date-mint combination, this date and mint experiencing fewer than a million minted, whereas the bare head type saw in excess of 6 million, while the 1831-A of the same type saw in excess of 2 million struck. Additionally preserved at a level that appears completely unrivalled, making this a must for the condition-minded collector." In addition to the Domard bust shown here, the Rouen ment struck five francs using the earlier Tiolier bust (F.315/15 and F.316/3).

Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 37 mm diameter, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM.
