This coin, called a dixième d'écu au bandeau, was the French equivalent of a dime. In the coinage system of the ancien régime, the 1/10 écu = 12 sols. The type was struck 1740-71 and is recorded for the Lille mint ("W") for 1740-41, 1743-50, 1753. This issue is priced^[2] as scarce but not rare.
