This coin, called a dixième d'écu au bandeau, was the French equivalent of a dime. In the coinage system of the ancien régime, the 1/10 écu = 12 sols. The type was struck 1740-71 and is recorded for the Lille mint ("W") for 1740-41, 1743-50, 1753. This issue is priced[2] as scarce but not rare.

Specification: 2.95 g, 0.917 fine silver, 22 mm diameter, this specimen 2.88 g.
