This specimen was lot 2078 in Goldberg sale 112 (Los Angeles, September 2019), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. 1/12 Ecu, 1660-A (Paris). Louis XIV. A superb example, sharply struck with original mint fresh luster. NGC graded MS-65." Shown is a twelfth d'écu buste adolescent struck 1659-64 during the minority of Louis XIV (r. 1643-1715).

Recorded mintage: 2,126,688.

Specification: 2.28 g, 0.917 fine silver, 19-20 mm diameter, designed by Jean Warin.
