This specimen was lot 29389 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,057.50. The catalog description[2] noted, "Louis XIV 1/12 Ecu 1660-Mor AU58 PCGS, Morlàas mint (Buffoon's crown). An outstanding specimen with desirable, light-gray patina that is accented by iridescent blue and gold highlights. The devices are incredibly well-preserved considering the age of the piece, and while there is a hint of wear, the overall appearance of this example is absolutely stunning. A superb example from this scarce mint, rare as such." Droulers[1] notes this scarce type for 1650-57 and 1660-61 from Pau and Morlaàs.
