The first specimen was lot 1609 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$216 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANKREICH, Konigreich, Louis XI. 1461-1483. Gros de Roi o. J. (26.5.1447), Paris. Sehr schön. Knapper Schrötling und etwas gewellt. (kingdom of France, Louis XI, 1461-83, undated gros of the king, emission of May 1447, Paris mint. Very fine, Small flan and slightly bent.)"
Despite the date given in the catalog description, this type (along with a rare demi-gros) was not issued until 31 December 1461. It had a face value of 33 deniers tournois. It is marked as a product of the Paris mint by the dot under the 18th letter of the legend (A in FRANCORVM).
Recorded mintage: unknown.
