This specimen was lot 1414 in Jean Elsen sale 154 (Brussels, March 2023), where it sold for €260 (about US$337 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Philips de Stoute (1384-1404), AR dubbele groot jangelaar, 1386-1387, Gent. Vz/ De twee wapenschilden van Bourgondië en Vlaanderen onder een adelaar. Kz/ Lang gevoet kruis. Zeer Fraai. (county of Flanders, Philip the Bold, 1384-1404, silver double hunter's groat, 1386-87, Ghent mint. Obverse: arms of Burgundy and Flanders under an eagle; reverse: long cross. Very Fine.)"
Philip, duke of Burgundy, married the daughter of Louis II de Male, count of Flanders, uniting the two houses against the authority of the king of France.
