This specimen was lot 3867 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $83.30. The catalog description[1] noted, "FIJI: Republic, penny, 1942-S, two-year type, NGC graded MS65." This type was struck at San Francisco 1942-43 as a wartime substitute for the usual copper-nickel type struck 1937-45. It is common as many were saved by servicemen stationed there during the war. Fiji converted to decimal coinage in 1969.
