Sincona sale 39, lot 3083

This specimen was lot 3083 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 8,500 CHF (about US$10,194 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Erfurt, Stadt, Taler 1633. Von grosser Seltenheit. Fast vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Erfurt, thaler of 1633. Of high rarity. About extremely fine.)"

This rare thaler was issued with Dav-5271 (double thaler) and Dav-5271B (triple thaler). Other Erfurt thalers issued by the Swedish include Dav-4546, -4547, -4548, -5268 and -5272.
