This specimen was lot 75421 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Groat (2 Pence), "1" (1601). London Mint. Elizabeth I. PCGS AU-55. Obverse: Crowned bust left; Reverse: Square-topped coat-of-arms over long cross fourchee. From the Richard August Collection." This type comes with mintmark "2" or "1". Note the two dots behind the queen's head to mark the value. Silver two pence or halfgroats are still struck for the Maundy sets but long ceased to circulate.
