This specimen was lot 31161 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $14,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Angel, ND (1526-44). London Mint; mm: lis. Henry VIII. PCGS MS-62. Second coinage. Obverse: St. Michael standing facing, head right, spearing dragon to lower right with spear topped by cross crosslet; Reverse: Ship bearing shield and cross; ? and rose flanking cross. A truly wondrous and remarkable specimen, this nearly choice example exudes a great deal of lustrous brilliance along with an enchantingly bold strike. The flan is very well produced, with clear care and attention given to its striking. Undoubtedly, a premium representative for the advanced collector of hammered gold. From the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection." This issue of Henry's second coinage was accompanied by a half angel (Fr-159).
