This specimen was lot 20389 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $11,162.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "EL SALVADOR. 20 Pesos, 1892. NGC AU-58. VERY RARE. Mintage of only 300 pieces and one of the most sought after gold type coins in all of Latin American numismatics. Easily one of the nicest extant, with bright glowing yellow surfaces and just a trace of wear." This type and its sisters, the , five and ten pesos, were struck in 1892 only and probably meant to be only patterns. All are rare.

Recorded mintage: 300 plus proofs.
