This specimen was lot 74590 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "EGYPT. 5 Pounds, AH 1415/1994. Cairo Mint. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo. Meidum Geese." This NCLT is among dozens issued by the regime in 1993-94 to honor ancient Egyptian culture. Many of the designs were also used on gold fifty pounds. The birds depicted are likely the Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca), common throughout Africa, rather than the domestic goose (Anser anser domesticus).
