This specimen was lot 22157 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. 500 Pesos, 1990. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating the 500th anniversary of the evangelization and Columbian discovery of America, this vibrant Gem verges upon perfection, with tremendous frosting to the devices and a high degree of mirrored brilliance in the fields." This NCLT was minted at Ottowa under contract.

Recorded mintage: 1,500 plus 35 in platinum.

Specification: 16.96 g, 0.917 fine gold, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
