Künker sale 336, lot 6329

This specimen was lot 6329 in Künker sale 336 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €460 (about US$602 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DOMINIKANISCHE REPUBLIK, Republik. 100 Pesos 1979, Besuch von Papst Johannes Paul II. 10,80 g Feingold. GOLD. Polierte Platte. (Dominican Republic, one hundred pesos of 1979, visit of John Paul II. Proof.)"

This occasion also caused the issue of a silver 25 pesos (KM 54) and a gold 250 pesos (KM 56).

Recorded mintage: 1,000 plus 3,000 proofs.

Specification: 12 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.347 troy oz AGW.
