This specimen was lot 42710 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $1,140. The catalog description[1] noted, "DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. 200 Pesos, 1977. PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield. Centennial of the death of Juan Pablo Duarte. A modern commemorative that does not turn up often; our first offering of the type. Original mintage of 1,000 with many melted later. Light hazy toning from being struck in 0.800 fine gold with an AGW of 0.7973." This NCLT was accompanied by a series of circulating commemoratives, from one centavo to one peso.

Recorded mintage: 1,000 plus 2,000 proofs.
