This specimen was lot 50395 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 32 Rigsbankskilling, 1820-IFF. NGC Unc Details--Surface Hairlines." This type, like many European minors, is scandalously undervalued. It was struck at Copenhagen in 1818 and at Altona (shown here) in 1820 and was worth one third rigsbankdaler or one sixth speciedaler. At the time, the monetary system was 12 penning = 1 skilling, 16 skillings = 1 mark, 4 mark = 1 krone, 6 mark = 1 daler specie, 2 daler specie = 1 ducat.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.12 g, 0.687 fine silver, .135 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM-690.2; Sieg-25; H-29.
