from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 10292
SB225-10292r.jpg

This specimen was lot 10292 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €1,800 (about US$1,876). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Krone, 1691-CW. Copenhagen Mint. Christian V. NGC AU-55. Variation with flowers under monogram. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." The SCWC states that there are two obverse legends for this date: KM 401.2 ("D.G.REX.DAN.NOR VAN GOT") and KM 401.3 ("DEI GR REX DAN • NOR • V • G"). The latter must be very rare as we see no examples in CoinArchives. There are also double and triple kroner for this date.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 22.27 g, 0.671 fine silver, this specimen 22.02 g.

Catalog reference: Dav-3642; KM-401.2; Hede-90A; Sieg-41.1; Schou-18; Bruun-7066.
