This specimen was lot 1982 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 39 (Winter Park, FL, May 2026), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "CUBA, Havana mint, proof 10 pesos, 1990, King Ferdinand / 5th Centennial of the Discovery of America, NGC PF 66 Ultra Cameo, ex-Busto. Mintage of only 5,000 coins. Gem proof with frosty design and deep mirror fields. Pedigreed to the José Busto Collection." Desperate for foreign exchange, Cuba has issued large numbers of NCLT's, many only vaguely related to Cuba. This type was accompanied by a gold fifty (Fr-48) and hundred pesos (Fr-47).
